
Former Spain national team and Barcelona football legend, Andres Iniesta, has officially become a part of Emirates Club, as declared by the UAE Pro league on Tuesday.
The news of Iniesta’s arrival was warmly conveyed by Emirates Club through the popular messaging platform X, which was formerly recognized as Twitter. The Ras Al-Khaimah-based club shared an enticing snapshot of Iniesta donning their team’s jersey, while also disclosing that the specifics of the contractual agreement will be unveiled during an upcoming press conference scheduled for Wednesday.
At the age of 39, Iniesta recently bid farewell to his time at the Japanese football club Vissel Kobe, which he had been associated with for a span of five years. His remarkable career boasts an impressive collection of achievements, including securing an impressive nine LaLiga titles during his tenure with Barcelona, in addition to clinching four coveted Champions League titles. On the international stage, Iniesta’s talent shone as he triumphed in the 2010 World Cup and attained consecutive Euro championship victories in 2008 and 2012 as a key member of the Spanish national team.
Following his departure from Barcelona in 2018, Iniesta embarked on a journey with Vissel Kobe, leading the team to its inaugural title the following year, notably clinching the Emperor’s Cup. Notably, the club made a remarkable debut in the continental competition by progressing to the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League in their very first appearance.
