Paris St-Germain has successfully secured the services of the prominent France forward, Ousmane Dembele, from Barcelona, finalizing a transfer deal worth about 50.4 million euros). Dembele, 26, previously made his mark at Barcelona following his 2017 transfer from Borussia Dortmund for a substantial fee of £135 million. Throughout his tenure, he showcased his skills by netting an impressive 40 goals in 185 matches, contributing to Barcelona’s conquest of three La Liga titles.

The accomplished 2018 World Cup winner has inked a five-year contract with Ligue 1 champions, Paris St-Germain.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Dembele stated, “I am thrilled to be a part of Paris St-Germain and eagerly anticipate gracing the field in my new team colors.”

He continued, “I aspire to achieve continuous growth here and bring pride to all the dedicated fans of the club.”

Adding to his accolades, Dembele secured two Copa del Rey titles during his time at Barcelona and recently extended his association by signing a fresh two-year contract with the club.

Earlier this month, Barca’s coach, Xavi, confirmed Dembele’s intention to depart from the club.

President Nasser Al-Khelaifi of PSG highlighted the significance of Dembele’s inclusion, emphasizing his role as an “essential and dedicated player” for the French squad.

Al-Khelaifi further noted, “Ousmane’s remarkable commitment and dedication upon joining PSG is truly inspiring and aligns perfectly with the attitude we expect from all our players.”

Despite participating in the World Cup final in December, Dembele’s involvement was curtailed due to a thigh injury, preventing him from contributing significantly during the latter half of the season as Barcelona clinched the title.

With 37 appearances and four goals for the French national team, Dembele now stands as PSG’s ninth acquisition during the current summer transfer window.

In a parallel development, the notable France striker Kylian Mbappe and Brazilian forward Neymar will be absent from PSG’s lineup for their inaugural Ligue 1 encounter against Lorient on Saturday.

As Mbappe, aged 24, engages in a contractual standoff amid his aspirations to join Real Madrid, he has refrained from participating in first-team training sessions.

The record-holding top goalscorer in PSG’s history is declining a one-year contract extension, with his existing contract set to conclude next summer.

Simultaneously, Neymar, 31, who has reportedly expressed a desire to depart from the club, is currently recuperating from a viral infection and is engaged in indoor training sessions.
