Victor Osimhen responds to Napoli’s TikTok insult with a goal….

Nigeria and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, scored a goal against Udinese in the wake of a controversial social media incident involving the player. Napoli had previously posted a mocking video on their TikTok account, which has since been removed, featuring Osimhen missing a penalty. The video included a high-pitched voiceover saying, “gimme penalty please.” This incident prompted a strong reaction from Osimhen’s agent, who threatened legal action against the club.

Head coach Rudi Garcia addressed the situation, stating, “I can assure you that Victor loves this jersey and is invested 100% in our project.” He added, “I have a very good relationship with Victor. I am happy for him because he scored tonight. After the match in Bologna, we were all frustrated, angry, Victor in particular, because he missed the penalty. On the sporting aspect and on other levels, especially on TikTok, there have been a lot of things to manage in recent days.”

The match against Udinese saw Napoli secure a comfortable victory, with Piotr Zielinski opening the scoring with a penalty after a foul on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Osimhen played a pivotal role by scoring Napoli’s second goal before half-time, calmly slotting the ball past Udinese goalkeeper Marco Silvestri.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who had hit the post twice earlier in the second half, capitalized on an error from Jaka Bijol to score a goal, ending his 17-game goal drought. Lazar Samardzic contributed with a fine solo effort for Udinese, reducing the deficit with just 10 minutes remaining. However, Giovanni Simeone, who came on to replace Osimhen, quickly restored Napoli’s three-goal advantage.

This victory has propelled Napoli to the fifth position in the Serie A standings, bringing them within four points of league leaders Inter Milan. Victor Osimhen’s dedication and his on-field performance have undoubtedly boosted the team’s moral
