The Chairman/CEO of Capital Oil and Gas and the proprietor of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has given out a cheque of $5000 to the Super Eagles of Nigeria players as motivation for them to go all out and win Eqypt on Tuesday in Alexandria to put their AFCON qualification in the right path. Uba had promised the Nigerian team the said amount should they win Egypt in the matched played last Friday in Kaduna but despite the game ending 1-1 apiece, Uba still went ahead to redeem his pledge. He also handed out the sum of $3000 to the team officials.
Speaking during his visit to the Super Eagles Africa Continental Hotel camp with officials of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, the philantropist said: “I am giving this to the Super Eagles to motivate them to win the match in Alexandria on Tuesday. I made the pledge to give the team $5,000 as our support to inspire them to pick the maximum points against Egypt in Kaduna on Friday. Although the game ended in a 1-1 draw, it is my conviction that the team deserve to be motivated ahead of the game on Tuesday in Egypt.” “I am an advocate of motivation for result. That is the reason I and the FC Ifeanyi Ubah management have come to lift the spirit of the team. We believe in the Super Eagles and will continue to support the team,”

He is reported in the media to have loaned the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) money to be able to charter a flight to convey the Super Eagles to Alexandria on Monday. The NFF had made plans for the players to fly a commercial Egypt Air aircraft citing lack of funds. Ubah is said to be a former goal keeper for Gabros International FC which he has now bought over and renamed FC Ifeanyi Ubah. He is said to have been in the same Golden Eaglets camp with the likes of Nwankwo Kanu and Wilson Oruma although he failed to make the final cut to Japan’93 U-17 world cup.
