New Super Eagles invitee, Sebastian Osigwe, has tested positive for COVID-19 and may miss the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone next month.

The Swiss-born Nigerian, who plays for FC Lugano in the Swiss Super League, got his first call-up to the national team on Thursday, but would have to wait another time to make his debut for Nigeria after Lugano posted on their website Friday that the goalkeeper tested positive for COVID-19. “The management of FC Lugano announces that the tests carried out following the positivity of Mattia Bottani also highlighted the positivity of the goalkeeper Osigwe.” Osigwe, along with those affected would be in isolation for 10 days, where they would be training while under observation, the club stated.
