Porto have sacked coach Jose Peseiro after less than five months in charge. The club are now looking for their 10th boss since Jose Mourinho left for Chelsea 12 years ago. They finished third in the league, while Peseiro’s final game in charge was the Portuguese Cup final, which they lost on penalties to Braga.

Jose Mourinho visited Manchester United’s training ground for the first time yesterday. He was shown round by executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and met Bobby Charlton, plus other members of the club’s staff. He did not meet Ryan Giggs though as the United assistant, whose future is uncertain, is on holiday.

Ivory Coast international Serge Aurier was arrested and placed in police custody on Monday after he was involved in an incident in Paris. The 23-year-old, who plays for French side Paris St Germain, is alleged to have had an altercation with police. The incident occurred in the Champs Elysees area in the early hours of Monday as Aurier left a nightclub. Paris St Germain officials said the club will wait for further information before making any comment. Coach Laurent Blanc briefly suspended Aurier in mid-February after the defender posted a video online in which he insulted Blanc and fellow PSG players, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Angel di Maria.
