FIFA’s $20 Billion World Cup Plan Sparks Global Backlash…

Football’s governing body, FIFA, is facing mounting criticism over a controversial proposal that could fundamentally change the commercial future of the FIFA World Cup.

The plan would see FIFA create a new company, FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE), to manage the commercial rights of the FIFA World Cup and other FIFA competitions. The company would be valued at $20 billion, with FIFA seeking to raise up to $4.2 billion by selling minority, non-controlling stakes to long-term private investors while retaining full control of football governance and competitions.
