
There are versatile footballers… and then there is Adji Ndiaye.
The young Senegalese star has achieved something incredibly rare by representing her country in two completely different positions—as a striker and as a goalkeeper.
In September 2023, Ndiaye featured as a goalkeeper for Senegal’s senior national team in a WAFCON qualifier against Mozambique. Just 12 days later, she was deployed as a striker for Senegal’s U-20 team in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers and even found the back of the net against Guinea. That remarkable achievement earned her recognition from the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) as one of football’s most unique stories.
