Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association after clashing with West Ham United’s Winston Reid. Schweinsteiger, 31, caught the Hammers defender with his left arm as they contested a free-kick in the 40th minute of Saturday’s 0-0 draw. The Germany international will face a three-match ban if found guilty. He has until 1pm on Thursday to reply to the charge.
