Lescott joins AEK Athens….

Defender Joleon Lescott has left Championship side Aston Villa to join AEK Athens on a two-year deal. The 34-year-old former England player joined Villa on a two-year deal last summer but leaves the Midlands club after just one season. It has not been disclosed whether there is a transfer fee involved.

Southampton break transfer record to sign Sofiane Boufal….

Southampton have broken their transfer record to sign Moroccan attacking midfielder Sofiane Boufal from French side Lille for £16 million. Boufal, 22, scored 11 goals last season to help Lille finish fifth in Ligue 1 and qualify for the Europa League. Southampton’s previous transfer record was the £15m they paid Roma for forward Dani Osvaldo in 2013. Boufal is the latest summer arrival as new manager Claude Puel shapes his team following several departures.

Manuel Pellegrini moves to China

Former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has become the latest big name to join the Chinese Super League after being confirmed as the new manager of Hebei China Fortune. The Chilean replaces Li Tie, who got the club promoted last season. They are currently fifth with seven games of the season remaining. Pellegrini has been out of the game since his contract with City expired at the end of last season. He won a Premier League title and two League Cups during his three years at the Etihad Stadium. Pellegrini joins former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson and former Brazil boss Luiz Felipe Scolari in the 16-team Chinese Super League.
