Yaya Toure apologizes to save his career….

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has apologised to the club over comments made by his agent Dimitri Seluk, which has led to the midfielder not playing since 24 August and not featuring in any Premier League game this season. Seluk said Toure had been “humiliated” when he was not included in City’s Champions League squad. City boss Pep Guardiola then said: “I cannot accept as a coach, when his player doesn’t play, going to the media to speak and speak and speak.” In a statement on Facebook, Toure wrote: “I wish to apologise – on behalf of myself and those who represent me – to the management team and all those working at the club for the misunderstandings from the past.”

“Those statements do not represent my views on the club or the people who work there,” says the 33-year-old player, who is out of contract at the end of the season. “I have nothing but respect for Manchester City and only wish the best for the football club. I am immensely proud to have played a part in the club’s history and want to help City succeed further. I live to play football and entertain the fans. “On that note, I would like to thank all of the fans for their messages through this difficult period. This means a great deal to me and my family.”
