Isaac Success set to return from injury….

Isaac Success is set to return to training  this week and be in contention to face West Bromwich Albion in news that will help lift any lingering gloom following the defeat to Stoke City. Success has been out for five games and six weeks, much longer than anyone expected, after picking up a muscle injury  in the win over Middlesbrough. Two trips to Barcelona to see Dr Roman Cugat and daily work with club physio Oli Leaper and therapist Giorgio Gasparini have finally restored him to  full health and put him in line to return with the rest of the main training group.

Walter Mazzarri has largely deployed the marauding Nigerian on the left in his six Watford appearances, but where he fits into the recently tweaked line-up will be fascinating. “If I can improve [my understanding of] team tactics that will definitely make me improve individually,” said Success “So I’m just concentrating on improving with the team and that will develop me. I can play anywhere up front. As a coach [Mazzarri] has different tactics  in different games, so if his tactics for some games don’t favour me I have to watch and try to learn from the players  who they do favour.” Success has given a tantalising glimpse of his burgeoning  talent and, as is often the case, has become an even better player in the minds of the fans when out of the side. Troy Deeney believes Watford have the real deal in the summer signing from Granada. “Big spending doesn’t always mean big returns  – but, for me,  it’s clear to see the quality the likes of Pereyra and Success are adding to the squad,” wrote Deeney in his programme notes. “They are almost Premier League ready players, adding to the experience of all the lads still who’ve now got a year under their belts and are all the stronger for that.”
