Chris Coleman is world 100m champion….

Christian Coleman shrugged off the controversy of his build-up to the World Championships to win the 100m final in 9.76 seconds. The pre-event favourite, who avoided a ban for three missed doping tests, finished well clear of defending champion and fellow American Justin Gatlin, who clocked 9.89 in Doha.

Partizan Belgrade cheered on by 22,000 children at Europa League game….

It was no ordinary night of European football for Partizan Belgrade on Thursday, as instead of the usual home crowd, the hosts were cheered on by 22,000 noisy children. The Serb club had been ordered to play two European home matches behind closed doors, as a sanction for racist behaviour by supporters in the competition’s qualifying phase against Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor.

Barcelona’s teenage forward Ansu Fati has been granted Spanish citizenship paving the way for him to play for them at international level. The 16-year-old is also eligible to play for Guinea-Bissau, where he was born and reportedly for Portugal through his grandparents.

Present and past premier league stars played at the Vincent Kompany’s testimonial as a Manchester City legends XI drew 2-2 with a Premier League legends side. The 33-year-old, who joined Anderlecht in the summer, played no part at Etihad Stadium due to a hamstring injury. The math held at Etihad stadium on 11th September to bid the City’s former captain goodbye for his dedicated services to the team.

Bianca Andreescu beats Serena to win US Open….

19 years old Bianca Andreescu wins 2019 US Open beating Serena Williams in two straight sets 6-3, 7-5. Bianca is the first Canadian to win a major tennis championship. 37 years old Williams’s bid for record equaling 24 Grand Slam continues to wait. The Canadian tore the American into bits at the early that a late resurgence from Williams was a little to late to prevent Andreescu from winning.

Quique Sanchez Flores reappointed Watford manager….

Watford have reappointed Quique Sanchez Flores as manager after announcing the exit of Javi Gracia. Sanchez was in charge of Watford for the 2015-16 campaign before leaving at the end of the season. Fellow Spaniard Gracia, whose coaching team have also left, had been in charge since January 2018 – making him the first Hornets boss to last more than one full season since 2013.
